Expect hands-on, active work in both shop and outdoor environments. You'll assist with surface preparation, coating application, material handling, equipment operation, and general labor duties while working alongside experienced team members.

Your Responsibilities

Surface Preparation & Coating Application

  • Assist with surface preparation activities, including blasting and cleaning steel surfaces.
  • Assist with the application of industrial coatings in accordance with company and industry standards.
  • Follow project specifications, quality requirements, and inspection procedures.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and production records.

General Labor & Material Handling

  • Load, unload, move, and organize steel materials throughout the facility.
  • Operate forklifts and material handling equipment safely.
  • Assist with staging materials for production and shipment.
  • Perform housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Assist other departments as needed to support production schedules.

Safety & Quality

  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Wear required PPE, including respirators when necessary.
  • Participate in safety meetings, inspections, and training.
  • Report safety concerns, equipment issues, or quality deficiencies promptly.

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Production Manager and production team to meet customer deadlines.
  • Support company goals related to safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Required

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work safely in a fast-paced industrial environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs regularly.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and perform physical labor for extended periods.
  • Legal eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Preferred

  • Forklift certification (or ability to obtain).
  • Experience in industrial painting, coating application, sandblasting, or surface preparation.
  • Experience in steel fabrication, construction, manufacturing, or industrial environments.
  • Familiarity with safety programs and quality standards.
